2017 H Street Festival Dining Guide

Tomorrow is the biggest day of the year for the H Street Corridor: 2017 H Street Festival!  Going from noon until 7pm (with many after parties), the Festival will take over H Street from 4th Street all the way to 14th Street.  It gets bigger and bigger every year.  Below are some of the culinary experiences the visitors can expect from restaurants and bars in the neighborhood.  Did we miss any?  Please reach out or tweet us!

  • Le Grenier (502 H Street): $19.95 brunch from 11am until 4pm, $3 Kronenburg beer until 7pm, $9 Merguez frites sandwiches until 7pm, chocolate mousse taster, and the restaurant will also be raising money for hurricane relief efforts throughout the day
  • DC Harvest (517 H Street): staying open all day with brunch service from 11-230, appetizer and bar service from 230-530, and dinner service from 530 to close, brunch special of fried green tomato with charred eggplant puree and dinner special of squid ink linguine with maryland crabmeat, melted heirloom tomatoes, roasted corn, thai basil, and crab roe butter
  • Big Board (421 H Street): patio with $5 drafts and chili dogs
  • Cusbah (1128 H Street): $4 Brooklyn lager, $5 Smirnoff, and $7 Jameson drink specials
  • The Queen Vic (1206 H Street): starting early at 9am with free Guinness Blonde tasting and then Liverpool FC vs. Burnley at 10am
  • Granville Moore’s (1238 H Street): tables removed from first floor to allow more people inside, patio outront with $5 Bavik Pils and Wittekerke and $8 Ommegang and Duvel drafts
  • Pow Pow (1253 H Street): food sold inside and in a tent outside of the restaurant and also selling Asian beers for the Festival (Pow Pow does not usually have alcohol sales)
  • Sospeso (1344 H Street): H Street Festival menu including $6 hummus, fried halloumi, porchetta sandwich, merguez kofte, Hellbender IPA for $5, and aperol spritz for $6
  • Redrocks (1348 H Street): $6 drafts, luau party on rooftop, games and beer garden out front of restaurant
  • Biergarten Haus (1355 H Street): doors open at 11am for start of Oktoberfest, patio out front featuring brats on a bun and Biers “Spaten Oktoberfest” and “Franziskaner,” and a variety of beers inside and on the back patio
  • Impala (1358 H Street)jumbo margarita for $18, Impala margarita for $7, pollo asado (grilled half chicken), carnitas (coca cola braised), pico and guac for $5, and elote loco (with jalapeno aioli) for $6

Sol Mexican Grill (1251 H Street, NE) will celebrate H Street Festival by having margaritas on a sidewalk patio and a DJ on the second floor of the restaurant.  They will also be serving their usual tacos, burritos, and bowls on the first floor.

Nando’s (411 H Street, NE) will be serving its full menu during H Street Festival and will also have a table outside on H Street where they will be handing out samples of their wings.

Pow Pow (1253 H Street, NE) will be holding an art show with artist Keyhan Solo during H Street Festival this coming Saturday.  Keyhan designed the giant mural that is painted inside of Pow Pow.  Visitors will be able to meet the artist and buy limited edition pieces.

The Big Board (421 H Street, NE) will be hosting a Port City Brewing Company party on its out front patio during H Street Festival this Saturday.  Big Board will feature $5 draft beer and tall boys as well as $5 brats and $3 tots on its patio.

New Tri Tip Steak and Eggs at DC Harvest

DC Harvest (517 H Street, NE) will be serving an expanded brunch menu and then transitioning to their dinner service in the evening during H Street Festival this Saturday.  DC Harvest will serve brunch from 11 am-2:15 pm (reservations recommended) and then will have dinner starting at 5:30 pm.  Their bar will be open the entire day.  The brunch menu will feature DC Harvest’s Grilled Tri Tip steak hash with crispy Yukon Gold potatoes, tarragon, spicy grilled tomatillo pico de gallo and two eggs anyway (pictured above).

Driftwood Kitchen (400 H Street, NE) will have a tent on their patio featuring Devils Backbone beers to celebrate H Street Festival this coming Saturday.  In addition, Driftwood will have $5 drafts, $5 rails, $4 bottles, and $3 cans as part of the Festival.

Red Rocks (1348 H Street, NE) will have a beer garden sponsored by Guinness and DJs throughout the day during H Street Festival this Saturday.  The restaurant will also be hosting an H Street Festival after party starting at 10 pm.  The party is hosted by Rock Creek Social and sponsored by Redbull.  It will feature DJs as well as Ketel One and Redbull drink specials.

Queen Vic (1206 H Street, NE) will be parking its double-decker Jameson bus outside its restaurant to celebrate H Street Festival this coming Saturday.  According to their Facebook, the restaurant will also be featuring pork belly lollipops and scotch eggs as part of its celebration.  The bus was a big hit and very popular last year!
