Main Bar Area at Union Social
Union Social (100 Florida Avenue, NE) opens up for dinner service today (brunch will be added soon). You can check out the menus here. The restaurant is part of a family of restaurants including Copperwood Tavern in Arlington. Chef Randy Mosteller will be in charge of the kitchen at Union Social, having previously been the Executive Chef at Redwood in Bethesda before leaving to open Union Social.
DC Brau Mussels at Union Social
There will be a focus on local ingredients that are served fresh everyday. Mosteller says that he likes to take simple ingredients and prepare them well using creative preparations and drawing on his training at the New England Culinary Institute. Playing off “social” in the restaurant’s name, many of the dishes are intended to be shared among friends at the table, including the (very) large flatbreads that are available.
Seared Scallops at Union Social
In addition to the lunch, brunch, and dinner menus, Union Social will have a happy hour menu from 4-7 that will include $1 oysters, $7 wine by the glass, and $6 draft beers.
