14 SepThe Haymaker (1015 H Street, NE) will be offering three different punch specials during H Street Festival this Saturday. They will be opening at 1 pm and offering three versions of punch for $6: The Haymaker Punch (Bulleit bourbon), The Rum Shaker (Captain Morgan), and a tequila punch (pomegranate and guava).

H Street Festival Preview: Biergarten Haus
13 SepBiergarten Haus (1355 H Street, NE) will be holding a ceremonious tapping of a keg to celebrate the beginning of Oktoberfest during H Street Festival this coming Saturday. In addition they will be serving beers and brats on a patio in front of the restaurant as well as having the entire restaurant and garden open for service the entire day.
H Street Festival Preview: Dangerously Delicious Pies
13 SepDangerously Delicious Pies (1339 H Street, NE) will be holding a pie eating contest to celebrate H Street Festival this coming Saturday. Participants can sign up for the contest day (it will be held on one of the main stages), and the winner of the contest will receive one free sweet pie from Dangerously Delicious every month of the coming year!
H Street Festival Preview: Po Boy Jim
12 SepPo Boy Jim (709 H Street, NE) will be holding its 3rd annual po boy eating contest during H Street Festival this year. The contest will take place at 6 pm, and the winner gets a trophy and a sandwich named after them for a month. It is free entry for the contest and throughout the day they will be having specials from SweetWater brewing.

Announcing the 2016 H Street Festival—The Best One Yet!
Washington, D.C.—The 2016 H Street Festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 17 from noon – 7 p.m. This year’s event will span 10 blocks of H Street NE with 14 staging areas, dozens of interactive attractions and displays and over 250 businesses, restaurants, community organizations and vendors. Join us for great entertainment, food, drinks, contests, family-friendly activities and more!
Organized by H Street Main Street, the annual event highlights the unique spirit of the H Street NE Corridor and is one of the most popular in the D.C. region. It’s been named the best community Festival by The Washington City Paper for the last six years and regularly attracts a crowd of over 125,000 fun-seekers.
Attendees coming to the Festival to enjoy music, contests and other entertainment, won’t be disappointed. The Festival will have a variety of shows, featuring some of the best local and regional performers in Go-Go music, rap, R&B, jazz, rock-n-roll, soul music, gospel and more. 18 SepWe’ve spent the last week rolling out all of the dining specials and events that you will be able to find while strolling through H Street Festival this weekend (September 19th). Here’s the complete rundown (west to east):
- Driftwood Kitchen (400 H Street): joint event with Atlas Brew Works featuring multiple beers as well as Driftwood’s bar menu. Details here.
