Old 6th and H Bar and Grill, Future Cava Grill
Back in October
ANC Commissioner Chris Miller teased that Cava Grill would be coming to H Street in the old 6th and H Bar and Grill location (523 H Street, NE). When contacted at the time, Cava Grill stated that nothing was final and that it could not be confirmed. Based upon recently filed construction permits at 523 H Street, it appears that Cava Grill is in fact moving in. According to permits filed last week, interior construction will be taking place for “new restaurant tenant, Cava.” Additionally, the construction company that filed the permit is linked to other Cava constructions around the area. A peak inside of the building this weekend revealed that all the remnants of the old 6th and H Bar and Grill had recently been removed and that the interior is currently a shell.

Can we talk about what a huge failure 6th and H bar and grill was though? They took forever to build out and folded in a matter of months.
H Street really needs a decent sports bar. That definitely wasn’t it though.
